We will gather at King of Life Lutheran in Coquitlam on March 22-23, for a full day on Saturday and until noon or so on Sunday. 

We encourage congregations to start planning whom to send from your congregation. We hope to see two to three lay leaders from each congregation, and their rostered leader, together for conversation and consultation. All costs will be covered by the Synod. More information and registration details will follow very soon! 

Join us for a delicious Shrove Tuesday Pancake Supper on Tuesday, March 4, at 6 PM.
Come enjoy a warm meal and great fellowship - maybe even some pancake flipping games -  as we gather together.

Jennifer Carr, from the LaCrosse (Wisconsin) area Synod will be sharing about the 2024 visit to BC Synod's Global Companion Church in Peru - the Igleisia Luterana del Peru, IL-P. All are welcome

We received the sad news that Ruth Lydia Dearman (Hollinger) passed away last month. Ruth together with her huband Bill were long time and active members of Gloria Dei. Ruth later relocated to Duncan, BC. 

There will be a Celebration of Life for Ruth on April 5, 2025 from 1:00 - 4:00 at St. Peters Anglican Church, 5800 Church Rd., Duncan, BC.

Al and I had a wonderful holiday in sunny, welcoming, and warm Palm Springs. We want to thank the congregation and lay leaders for accommodating our time away. It was a blessed time of rest and renewal.  We not only enjoyed the dry desert climate, but also took the opportunity to take the arial tramway up Mount San Jacinto where it was cooler. We took an easy hike through the pine forest enjoying the spectacular scenery.  If you are wondering what Al is doing - No! he is not kissing the tree. He is taking a sniff of the Jeffrey Pine tree bark which gives off a distinctive and pleasant aroma which evokes butterscotch or vanilla. On our last Sunday, Al enjoyed a morning bicycle  architecural tour of homes built in the mid-century modern style, while Vida enjoyed worship with the faith community of River of Hope Lutheran Church.
