Safety and Dignity for 2SLGBTQIA+ persons
The recent executive orders of the President of the USA declaring there are only two genders as well as other discriminatory declarations and the recognition that there are lobby groups in Canada that are working to exert a similar influence has prompted the Bishops of our National and Synodical bodies to issue a letter concerning the dignity and safety of LGBTQIA+ persons.
As a Reconciling in Christ congregation it is more important than ever that we strive to be the inclusive congregation we profess to be - a faith community where ALL people feel supported and loved in their spiritual journeys and seeking after God.
You can read the full letter here or by clicking on the "Read More" button below where where you can download the pdf file. Copies of the letter will also be made available to the congregation at this Sunday's worship.

Snaps from our HolidayThank-you! Al and I had a wonderful holiday in sunny, welcoming, and warm Palm Springs. We want to thank the congregation and lay leaders for accommodating our time away. It was a blessed time of rest and renewal. We not only enjoyed the dry desert climate, but also took the opportunity to take the arial tramway up Mount San Jacinto where it was cooler. We took an easy hike through the pine forest enjoying the spectacular scenery. If you are wondering what Al is doing - No! he is not kissing the tree. He is taking a sniff of the Jeffrey Pine tree bark which gives off a distinctive and pleasant aroma which evokes butterscotch or vanilla. On our last Sunday, Al enjoyed a morning bicycle architecural tour of homes built in the mid-century modern style, while Vida enjoyed worship with the faith community of River of Hope Lutheran Church. Do you have a favorite vacation spot with some snaps you would be willing to share with the community? We could feature them in another issue or upload them onto the secure and password protected "members only" page on our website. |
