It was not the Advent 4 Service we had planned --a snowstorm got in the way. And it was a perfect illustration of God's call to us to enter the messiness of the season, just as God had called Joseph (according to appointed gospel story for the day) to trust and do as the angel told him and take Mary as his wife, although it was not the marriage he had planned.
Thank-you to the choir for being nimble and making the necessary adjustments when the snow kept choir members away. Y
Thank-you to the children for trying something new and singing "Silent Night" in both English and Ukrainian and the lovely rendition of "Mary did you Know."
And thank-you to our Ukrainian ESL group teacher, Natalia and participants Viktoriya and Olena for bringing us the sounds of Ukraine at Christmas time with the singing of, "Hospod’ Boh predv’ičnyj" or "God the Lord, Eternal."
