The pictures tell the story. On the Saturday before Palm Sunday our Fireside Room was transformed into a Pysanky-making workshop. Our group consisted of both experienced Boldly colored dyes and beeswax inspired bold designs. Learning how to hold and manipulate the kistka - the hotwax stylus - was perhaps the greatest challenge to the novice egg design artists in our group. But with some helpful tips from our Ukrainian mentors we persevered. There were also some young budding pysanky makers in our midst who caught on quickly and had the patience to focus on making detailed designs of birds and flowers.
We look forward to next year!
