On the Second Sunday of Easter we had the joy of witnessing and participating in the baptisms of Carter John Dennis and Mohammad. At the baptismal font Carter was joined by his parents Erika and Steve Dennis and godparents, Alex Gordon and Graeme Gordon. Mohammad was joined by his sponsor Jim Berger. At the conclusion of the rite Lois Grierson presented each of the newly batpized with their baptismal candle enjoing them to "let you light shine before others. . ."  Pastor Vida then presented the newly baptized to the congregation who expressed their joy and hearty welcome to the family of God with a round of applause.  Capping the rite was a beautiful rendition of the Farsi Christian Hymn - "Chon Rizad" - "As the rain of your Spirit pours out over my desert heart..."  sung by our choir and guest singers from the Vancouver Iranian Choir who rehearse in our sancturary every week. 

The celebration continued with a delicious potluck lunch (is it ever not delicious?) of various salads and cabbage rolls cooked by Oksana, a member of our Ukrainian English Language circle. The dessert table overflowed with goodies and celebratory cakes brought by Carter's family and Mohammad's son, M.
